I knew when I typed The End on A Hustler’s Promise 3 that I would eventually package this series as a complete set. At first I was worried because, despite being my biggest selling series, most of my readers already own all three books and I didn’t want them to feel compelled to purchase the boxed set just to read the bonus novella, The Takeover.
Therefore, I decided to release The Takeover independently of the set and also include it in the set. I’m still not sure if it was the greatest decision from a financial standpoint, but I often act from my “reader’s brain” when it comes to releasing my work. Not only do I release the books that I’d want to read, I release them in a way that is beneficial for readers. I’ve been burned many times by authors who include the last book in a series in a set so it forces readers to buy all the books that they already have just to get to the ending. That’s not a fair business practice.
Also, as a reader, if I’ve heard good things about a series and I know that the series is done, I’ll buy all the books at the same time. It’s like binge-watching Criminal Minds on Netflix, which I definitely did. So, here it is, A Hustler’s Promise 1-3 plus the bonus novella The Takeover.
Even if you’ve already read it, please spread the word.
